Introducing, a bunch of new gaming laptops from ROG. It’s mostly refreshes and design updates with a few tweaks here and there. We also saw most of the pre-production units earlier this year before MCO started – but that’s not the main point.
There are a few things to highlight here. ROG is adamant in using liquid metal thermal interface for all of its Intel-powered laptops for the year 2020 – which is what we get here. From what we can see, the CPU temperatures are amazing – and I love it. There is also a rubber gasket around the CPU silicon die to prevent the liquid metal from seeping out.
There are two families of gaming laptops, so we’ll start off with the Zephyrus lineup.

Also, all Zephyrus lineup of the gaming laptops now come with an additional 65W USB-C charger. This is because all of the new ROG laptops come with a USB-C port with USB-PD support – so you can charge via the USB-C port. It’s definitely handy to have another power brick that’s smaller in size and still charges the laptop, but locked the performance behind a thermal limit.
