To everyone’s surprise, Samsung just announced that their Galaxy A51 received a RAM upgrade, going from 6GB to 8GB. With how popular this device performs, particularly in the photography sector, getting a RAM bump will enable smoother overall experience while multitasking.
We have reviewed the Galaxy A51 in the past and while it has really good camera performance, it is priced at RM1,299 with 6GB of RAM. The upgraded and new version is an RM100 price bump, increasing it to RM1,399 – but comes with an extra 2GB of RAM. That extra 2GB of RAM is proven to be useful for those who multitask a lot – considering that Samsung’s One UI really is made with productivity in mind.

RAM? What’s that?
To put it in layman’s term, RAM is basically room for programs to sit in while processing cores are the worker’s of the system. More RAM means more room and flexibility without programs getting closed down and moved out to make room for active programs, thus improving the snappiness and reducing lag. An obvious example would be your game could stay suspended without restarting after finishing a call.
Let’s not forget the classic RAM destroyer Google Chrome, the word “sufficient” doesn’t seem to exist in its dictionary.
