Ever wondered why the Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones have a “better” experience in terms of playing some of the hottest mobile games in the market? Yep, your local Chinese support plays a big role here.
Over in Guangzhou, there is a special department called the Gaming Optimization Research Center within the Samsung building where a team of people focuses on one goal day in and day out – to bring out the best gaming experience in Galaxy smartphones.
Ever since mobile gaming took the rocket to the moon in terms of popularity, Samsung has been working closely with Tencent since 2021 in order to get the most out of the device plus the games themselves.
Teams not only just focus on the player’s perspective in terms of how games are played out but are also technical enough to delve deep into raw physical data through graph plotting and signal probing for better optimization.
A close relationship with Tencent also means that PUBG Mobile’s 90Hz refresh rate implementation can be accessed rather early by Samsung Galaxy smartphones compared to other brands.
As such, gamers really have a competitive edge thanks to the smoother animation and faster response rate.
Samsung also implemented a 4D Vibration mechanism to simulate the feeling of rumble in controllers for a more immersive experience.
The amplitude of the vibrations can be finely tuned to match the type of explosions or effects that also factor in distance and direction so that everything feels natural to the eyes, ears, and fingertips.
Notable efforts also come in the form of under-the-hood tuning like optimized power consumption for better temperature management and maximized touch response frequency.
