There are a lot of tips on how to be entertained while staying fit during this whole quarantine season. The easiest thing to do is to download a bunch of apps to track activities individually. But then again – don’t we already have too many apps?
Samsung already integrated a bunch of features and exclusive deals into the Samsung phone that you’re using right now – so why not take advantage of it?
Stable internet connection
Samsung is now putting a lot of focus on 5G phones. The company worked with numerous telco partners to bring improved 5G connectivity for everyone to use. For those who do not have a landline for internet connectivity, then 5G is the next best thing. With low latency and high throughput, 5G is technically suitable for competitive gaming too. But for those who do have internet at home, it’s quite difficult to fight for a stable connection sometimes. What if the WiFi is out of range? Or signal is weak? And with so many other devices within close proximity, the signal is severely affected.
We ran through some tips on how to maximize our router’s WiFi stability here, but its hardware is still a limiting factor.
Since last year, Samsung introduced WiFi-6 support for the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones and it has been the norm for all flagship smartphones. WiFi-6 can achieve around 80MB/s download speeds on 5GHz network – and that speed is exceptionally fast for wireless data transfer. In terms of speed, we did a more in-depth test on WiFi-6 here.
Using Samsung Health to maintain a healthy mind and body
Smartphones are indeed the best electronic companion that we can have. There’s a built-in app called Samsung Health and believe it or not – it has a lot of features that I believe all Samsung users should take a look.
First off, it tracks the number of steps you took on that particular day. If you sit too long, it will beep you a notification, prompting you to stand or twist your body.
You can also challenge your friends to workout together, or join the global challenge. Currently, 717,218 participants joined the challenge. It’s Samsung’s way of gamifying exercise while socializing with friends.
If walking is not your thing, then you can also hit “Discover” in the Samsung Health app and explore the variety of fitness programs, ranging from bodyweight training to stretching exercises.
Chat with your friends via Google Duo
One of Samsung’s new collaboration is with Google Duo. This app enables you to video chat with your friends in full high-definition quality.
Your all-in-one entertainment device
Samsung does have more partnerships with other companies too – specifically tuned for our entertainment.
We have Spotify. Thanks to Samsung’s partnership with Spotify, we can easily access your favorite playlists across all your Galaxy mobile devices. There is full Bixby integration for Spotify so that we can control our music by just telling Bixby to change the music.
Then comes Netflix. With Samsung’s flagship Dynamic AMOLED displays, we can watch our favorite shows with the best colors available on a smartphone. And we can also watch HDR shows from Netflix on our Samsung flagship smartphones too. Netflix is also integrated with Samsung Daily, Bixby, and Finder – so we can discover new shows easily.
Then we have the king of user-created content – YouTube. Samsung has partnered with YouTube to provide four months of YouTube Premium for free! With YouTube Premium, there are no ads and you can continue playing the videos even when you’ve switched to other apps. Heck, you can even continue playing even while you’re offline!
