On the 24th of April 2013, Samsung officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 – the world’s first ever 8-inch tablet. With all of the bells and whistles of the Note series, this new device doesn’t fall short among its family members as it also handles calls just like any other phones.

Instead of making it a 7-inch product like the Galaxy Tab, Samsung said that the 8-inch form factor is a “pocket sized tablet with S Pen” and is a perfect blend for living, working and playing under one device.

As any of the devices under the Galaxy Note product line, the Galaxy Note 8.0 also has S Memo, To-do lists, and all the other great things that the S Pen can do, with the Pen Detection function too, so that it will notify you when the S Pen is removed or attached, and changes the interface accordingly – just like what you get in the Galaxy Note II.

With such a large screen, the Dual View multiscreen feature is also present in this device. As for the specifications though, check out the list below to get the full idea of what’s there to be expected.

For a recommended retail price of RM1,699, this is surely an affordable device for a quad-core Exynos tablet that has a 5MP rear-facing camera for your Instagram goodness – even comes along with the almighty S Pen and its full-fledge features, though it comes with only a thin-film transistor(TFT) screen.
