The Samsung One UI 9 beta has officially started beta testing, and you can find it if your region is Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US (for now).
The new version is built on Android 17, with a heavier focus on pushing things in creativity, customization, accessibility, and security, while also setting the stage for more advanced AI features coming later with upcoming Galaxy flagships.
For one, Samsung Notes will have more decorative tapes and pen styles to work around, while the Contacts app is now part of Creative Studio, letting you create personalized profile cards without jumping between apps.
Meanwhile, Quick Panel has been tweaked here and there to offer size adjustments for elements like brightness, volume, and media controls. Accessibility-wise, Mouse Key control is more refined, with the TalkBack package now merging both Samsung and Google feature sets. One can also find the Text Spotlight now clearer and displayed in a bigger floating window.
Through the power of AI, security is now more human-interactable, as it also informs users about risky apps through warnings, blocking installations outright, and strongly encouraging the deletion of suspicious apps.
Beta rollout is now available in said regions, but you need to sign up via the Samsung Members app.
