Samsung Display has a series of illustrations posted on their newsroom and it depicts how displays augment the way we interact with our devices. From phones to tablets, high refresh rate, and many more.
What’s interesting is part 21 and part 22 of the illustrations. Yes, I know that it’s just a drawing and still just a concept – but we know that rollable screens are already a thing and multi-fold devices have already been shown as concept devices. For Samsung to tease these devices in their official newsroom post, does it mean that these concept devices will make their way to the market soon?
One can certainly hope it is. From what we can see here… it’s only posted on Samsung’s Korean newsroom site. On both the illustrations, the posts have the exact same texts. The translation picked up one phrase in particular – “the Display of Things” as we are pretty much looking at screens during most of our hours awake anyway.
The other texts are embedded within the sketch, which makes translation very difficult. Still, we tried our best – thanks to Google Translate and its OCR technology. Of course, the translation is not perfect – but it does shed some light on what it’s saying. Mostly just dreaming about how these concept displays will change our lives.

These days, for end-of-semester assignments, I am writing a report on the subject of future displays. The task is always difficult, but it’s fun to imagine what the display looks like. What will the future display look like? Recently, as I use a foldable smartphone, I am greedy for a wider screen. How about a multi-folder phone that folds up and uses it like a smartphone, but when you look for more information, you open a folded hwayeon like a map. I hope that the multi-foldable display will come out as a product as soon as possible so that you can see the world you want to bet on a wider screen.

While taking a break after completing the future display assignments given by school, I suddenly came up with an idea for a portable display while looking at the ballpoint pen in front of my eyes. How comfortable would it be if it was usually rolled up in the air, so it would be easy to put it around, and then open the display when needed? It is a skill that was made just by imagination! I like simple things, so I usually carry only a minimum of belongings, but if this type of product comes out, it would be perfect for me. Fun future display l technology as you can imagine! We must prepare so that we can realize the technology by preparing hard to bet.
As for why we’re talking about it, I think that for Samsung to post these illustrations on their official newsroom website could mean that the company is ready to unveil this technology to the public.
Maybe I’m reading into it a little too much, but CES 2021 is only about a month away – and we’ll be on the edge of our seats to see what’s new.
