Shopee proudly presents a new partnership deal with Visa signed for a period of 5 years in an effort to grow South East Asia’s digital economy.
All Shopee users will able to reap benefits from this collaboration by being able to pay with any Visa card while enjoying additional promotions and rewards while promoting digital transformation in terms of payment methods.
The agreement has publicly disclosed several key joint efforts that include:
- Adopt digital payments through Visa to incentivize MSMEs for digitalizing their business on Shopee
- Support MSMEs in marketing and campaigns to drive sales, traffic, and awareness of online shopping and storefronts.
- Launch co-branded credit cards in collaboration with local banks over the next few months
- Fast, easy, and secure Visa payments for all Shopee users
- Exclusive user experience to Shopee users through sponsored platforms.
According to App Annie, in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, Shopee emerged as the top in the Shopping category by average monthly active users and downloads, and also the total time spent in-app on Android. Make sense for Visa to pair up with the fastest-growing e-commerce platform to accelerate the region’s digital economy.
To protect users from potential cyber harm during payment, Shopee’s transaction process will be deepened and integrated with Visa’s CyberSource that supports fraud detection to ensure everyone is having a safe online shopping experience.
Let’s see what rewards are we going to get when using Visa cards, I personally hope it is going to be something straightforward such as more Shopee Coins or stackable discount offers as it is one of the best ways to promote more online shopping and milking my wallet even more.
