Today folks at Sonos Malaysia have announced the new Sonos Roam portable smart speaker for music on-the-go at any place, any time.
With many audio solutions now offering dual wireless connectivity, the Roam can also do the same and allows seamless switching between Wi-Fi and BlueTooth with priority given to the former. Aside from seamless connectivity, the experience is being enhanced as well with the new Sound Swap feature which allows you to transfer the music to the nearest Sonos speaker and let it handle the rest. Additionally, you can sync the Roam and other compatible Sonos speakers together to blast your music to the fullest. With more than 100 streaming services available to be controlled by the Sonos app, it is controllable with your voice thanks to the integration of Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple AirPlay 2.
Presented by the visual, the Roam is able to withstand outdoor usage with dustproof and waterproof resistance of IP67 and silicone end caps plus a physical button to protect against accidental bumps and drops. For the battery life, it can last up to 10 hours of continuous playback off a single charge and up to 10 days when not in use. To charge it, either use the USB-C cable, any Qi wireless charger, or the custom magnetic charger by Sonos.
Pricing and Availability
Available in Shadow Black and Lunar White, currently the Sonos Roam is still within the preorder period which will be made available starting April 20. It is priced at RM1099 with optional installment plans available where you can now place your order on Sonos Malaysia’s official website.
A smart portable smart speaker at this price tag? It’s a bit hard to swallow but perhaps it sounds really great? Would really want a review unit to test drive it though.
