Tesla has expanded its footprint in Malaysia once again, as its latest move is opening up a new Experience Centre at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru.
Positioned at G-019 South, the 3,300 sq ft space brings together the brand’s local lineup, including the Model 3, Model Y, and the newly introduced Model Y L six-seater SUV, giving visitors a full look at Tesla’s current offerings in the country.
At the same time, Tesla has officially started delivering the Model Y L across Malaysia, just two months after its initial launch in April. The rollout adds a new family-focused variant to a lineup that already includes the Model 3, which remains Malaysia’s best-selling electric sedan, and the Model Y, which continues to rank as the world’s best-selling EV.
Charging performance remains a key selling point, with Tesla claiming that a Model Y L can gain up to 288 km of range in around 15 minutes at peak charging speeds of up to 250 kW, typically managed through the Tesla app.
Safety remains a core highlight across the range, with all models carrying top ratings from major global testing bodies including NHTSA and IIHS in the US, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.
Beyond the showroom floor, they also installed 4x Superchargers in the ground external area near St. Giles Hotels. in total, there are 19 Supercharging stations with 84 Superchargers, alongside 17 Destination Charging stations and 73 Destination Chargers, with further expansion planned in Klang Valley, Penang, Perak, and East Malaysia.
Additionally, owners can utilize cross-border service and support now covering Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. This includes access to Tesla’s charging network, service coverage across nine service centres and service express locations, and support from 12 approved body shops across the region.
Software enhancements come in the form of Grok integration, web browsing, live traffic navigation, trip planning, and media streaming. The experience is backed by 24/7 hotline support, positioning Tesla ownership as a more seamless cross-border mobility experience across Southeast Asia.
