Feeling gloomy? This news will cheer you up for sure. If you’re using any of the WD My Cloud family of devices, then take note – the all-new revamped OS is currently available for update!
This is the WD My Cloud OS 3. Brand new logo for a brand new interface, and a refreshing experience too. How many times have you guys (including myself) experience some cringe-worthy looks and experience on the now-obsolete previous-generation My Cloud OS? Probably many.
So what did WD do to their WD My Cloud OS to make it so worthy as a major update? Firstly, brand new features! Milestone Arcus Surveillance software will be available on the WD My Cloud Business Series NAS systems with My Cloud OS 3 this month, and this feature is coming to My Cloud Expert Series in the future. Take it as a private network for CCTV recordings right in the comfort of your office or home. The Milestone Arcus Surveillance software can be downloaded through the My Cloud App Store, and then connect up to 16 cameras – and they’re kind enough to give out the first two camera licenses for free! Need more than 2 cameras? Get the license from WD authorized distributors.
Secondly is of course the brand new user experiences! There’s a new MyCloud.com and the new My Cloud Albums app that displays all of your photo and videos beautifully, and being able to share with your friends and family. It even supports file collaboration and access management so only your loved ones can view or edit the specific file.
Thirdly is a brand new WD Sync feature, where data is synced across multiple PCs and notebooks. It allows users to have automatic camera-roll backup and also includes a new transfer tool to quickly move everything to the My Cloud devices. Even Chromebooks and Chromecasts are supported!
The WD My Cloud OS 3 will be available for free on the current My Cloud personal cloud storage devices – that being the My Cloud, Mirror, Expert Series EX2/EX4, EX2100,EX4100, Business Series DL2100/DL4100.
Even the brand spanking new app is available on iTunes and Google Play now!
