Whoscall, who’s just returned from its rebrand, has announced that they are calling for the community’s power in combating scams, and one of the best ways to do it is through a reward program.
At the center of this change is a brand-new rewards and missions system that’s set to roll out in Q4 2025. With it, users can earn points by doing simple tasks like flagging suspicious numbers or verifying shady activity, and those points can be swapped for Whoscall Premium, partner rewards, or sponsored goodies.
To be fair, it’s a clever gamified approach that makes people more motivated to join in while strengthening the fight against scams as a whole.
Whoscall is also stepping up its game with AI. By partnering with Gemini, the app now taps into advanced back-end intelligence to keep up with scammers’ ever-changing tricks. That means faster and sharper detection when it comes to phone numbers, links, or even suspicious screenshots, so users feel more confident in making safer digital choices.
To bring a friendlier touch to all this, Whoscall is introducing “Vee”, which is a cheerful scam-fighting companion symbolizing trust and collective action. Alongside Vee, the app has a refreshed logo and a cleaner, more intuitive interface that makes it easier for anyone to use while staying true to Whoscall’s mission of clarity and inclusivity.
This update comes on the back of some impressive track records. Since launching in 2010, Whoscall has blocked over 660 million scam calls, filtered 1.8 billion scam messages, detected 30 million scam websites, and collected more than 135 million scam reports from nearly 10 million people across 57 countries. In Malaysia, it stands out as the only anti-scam app officially endorsed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), reinforcing its credibility as the nation’s most trusted tool against scams.
You can find the new Whoscall app on Apple App Store and Google Play Store right now, and gain access to plans between individual Premium subscriptions, Duo plans for two, or Family plans for up to five people. But do note that this “game against scam” program will only be available starting late 2025, with no exact release date announced for now.
