But what makes the Huawei MateBook D 15 an interesting laptop? Firstly, it has to be the price. For RM2,499, you get a few interesting things – like a 5.3mm thick bezel on the 15.6-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, with 87% screen-to-body ratio.

Interestingly, with the hype around AMD-powered laptops, Huawei is also jumping onto that bandwagon. The new Huawei MateBook D 15 now comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor with Radeon Vega 8 graphics built-in. In the laptop is also another 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, with an option to add in another 1TB 2.5-inch HDD.

Technically, this is considered an ultrabook. It has a thin body and a small footprint of only 357.8mm 229.9mm x 16.9mm. It does come with some Huawei-only feature like the One Tap Share for instant file transfer between Huawei smartphone and the MateBook D 15, and also Multi-screen Collaboration whereby the smartphone can be controlled by PC mouse and keyboard.

As of now, the base model of the Huawei MateBook D 15 comes with the price of RM2,499 which includes 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD with 1TB HDD.

The HUAWEI MateBook D15 will retail at RM2,499 starting 18 January 2020. It is available in Mystic Silver with the following standard configuration of 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. I’m not sure if Huawei is bringing in another variant of this laptop with more RAM, but that’s all we have now. Click here to find out more.
