Here are two new devices from Xiaomi – the first one being a brand new smartphone, the Mi Max 3 that has quite a good list of specs, and the highly anticipated Mi Band 3.
Mi Max 3
Remember the Redmi Note 5 that was launched a few months ago? The all new Mi Max 3 is like the Redmi Note 5 on steroids. Let’s see why.
The Mi Max 3 now packs a Snapdragon 636 chipset with a larger-than-ever 5,500mAh battery that can literally last for two days, a massive 6.9-inch display with 1080p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is then paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of storage.
That humongous battery can also support Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 as well – because who wants to wait for literally hours to charge the 5,500mAh battery from 10% to 100%?
It also comes with a 12MP + 5MP camera configuration with DPAF. Nothing too spectacular there until we’ve seen some picture samples from the phone itself.
The Mi Max 3 will be retailing at RM1,099 and is available in black color with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration only. It will be sold at all Authorised Mi Stores, Lazada, Shopee starting from 27 September 2018.
Mi Band 3
The Xiaomi Mi Band series of smart bands have been a hit in the market since its inception. They’re really affordable, stylish, and offers quite a good range of functionality. Now, Xiaomi is coming back once again with the Mi Band 3.
With a 0.78-inch OLED display, Mi Band 3 can now display content of messages in addition to basic data such as time, date and steps taken. Navigation is simple as usual where users can swipe up and down to scroll through menu items and left and right for more options.
The touch button at the bottom of the screen serves as a home button or for activating additional features such as clearing notifications or measuring the heart rate. Other new features include a built-in stopwatch, a phone locating function, and an independent
vibrating alarm function that works even when your smartphone is turned off.
For the first time in the Mi Band series, Mi Band 3 users will be able to swim with it, thanks to the 5 ATM water resistance. A dedicated interface on Mi Band 3 is activated when a workout starts through the Mi Fit app, allowing users to view real-time workout stats by simply glancing at the touchscreen display, as well as historical data and analysis on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
The new Mi Band 3 will be available for RM129 at all Authorised Mi Stores, Lazada, Shopee starting from 27 September 2018.
