In a surprising turn of events, Xiaomi Malaysia has partnered with Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) to bring us the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign. We’re curious to know the details about this partnership too since smartphones from a tech company and a country’s tourism don’t have any obvious connections at first.
This partnership is going to solidify Xiaomi as Malaysia’s smartphone brand that will be used to photograph scenic spots around Malaysia. There is already one promotional video made for the VM2020, featuring the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (review here), the world’s first smartphone with a 108MP camera.
The partnership is announced at a joint collaboration ceremony between Xiaomi Malaysia and MTPB, which was officiated by Datuk Musa Yusuf, Director General of MTPB. The ceremony was also attended by representatives from Xiaomi Malaysia including Allen An, Country Manager of Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore. This joint collaboration is also saw the signing of Memorandum of Joint Collaboration between Xiaomi Malaysia and MTPB.
Xiaomi Malaysia has also announced an online photography contest on its official Facebook Page, themed around #ExploreMalaysiaWithMINOTE10. Users are encouraged to participate by taking pictures of sceneries around Malaysia using the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and post them on either Facebook or Instagram together with the hashtag #ExploreMalaysiaWithMiNote10.
You’ll get a chance to win attractive prizes courtesy of MPTB including tickets to scenic spots and resorts in Malaysia.
Of course, we should also mention again that you can take beautiful pictures with the Mi Note 10 which is the world’s first smartphone with a 108MP sensor. You can also opt-in for a higher-end version, the Mi Note 10 Pro, with an 8-piece lens and a larger 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
