Xiaomi is definitely not a company that follows yearly releases of their new flagship devices. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to come right around when the Snapdragon 855 is announced, but it seems like we still have to wait a bit longer before it is available for purchase.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 has appeared online – both its back and also its front, alongside with the announcement date.
Co-owner of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, has posted a teaser about the Xiaomi Mi 9, which shows that its announcement date will be on the 20th of February – a little less than a week from now.
Xiaomi’s very own Weibo account also posted an image that features Roy Wang from TFBoys holding the Xiaomi Mi 9 which conveniently shows off the triple cameras at the back of the phone.
On a separate note, reputable leaker Ice universe posted an image that shows the Xiaomi Mi 9 from the front. However, the image quality is rather unhelpful in deciphering other information.
Unlike the render leaks from the Samsung Galaxy S10 series which is also launching on the 20th of February, those render leaks shows us that the upcoming Galaxy S10 series does have 3.5mm audio jack in all of them. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi 9 images, we can only hope there’s a 3.5mm audio jack.
It is expected that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 will also feature the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset with a charger that is higher than 18W, which makes it a proprietary fast charging technology from Xiaomi.
We will surely update more information when we know more about the Xiaomi Mi 9. Until then, stay tuned to us here and also at our Facebook page.
