The all new Neffos X9 was just launched in the market not too long ago. We even got our first look during the Neffos Summer Launch. The Neffos X9 is a smartphone that offers a much different look compared to the other smartphones in the market – and you should hear me out on what’s special.
A short introduction to the Neffos X series of smartphones – they’re not meant to compete with the big boys in specs and performance. It is meant to appeal to those who want a smartphone with a low price tag and is able to Facebook, WhatsApp, and take some pictures.
Some of you might know the Neffos X1 smartphone that’s already in the market today. It was Neffos’s main focus in the market – but now, the Neffos X9 is here to take over the spotlight. Compared to its predecessor, the Neffos X9 has better cameras and also much larger screen, and a larger battery. I mean, who doesn’t like a larger screen and battery?
From what we know, Neffos might be introducing a new X-series smartphone every year – unlike some other brands that refresh their flagship every 6 months.
The Neffos X9 has quite a sleek design with interesting accents that complements the phone’s elegance. Many other smartphones in the market wants to hide their antenna lines – but Neffos said nope. Let’s make it reflective and shiny instead.
With the beautiful curve along the top and bottom edge of the phone, it looks eye-catching yet sleek at the same time. We had the Neffos X9 in black color, and we have to say – the TP-Link branding and all of the other details like its model number, manufacturing country, and other certifications are in a slight color offset. You’ll need bright lights at a specific angle to read the etched label.
Keeping things updated is the new screen that the Neffos X9 has. Instead of dabbling in the past like the previous phone, the Neffos X9 is their first smartphone to use a large 6-inch 18:9 FullView display. Obviously, with higher screen-to-body ratio means you get fuller, more immersive experience.
And with that said, the capacitive buttons for back-home-recent is shifted into the screen. Neffos actually did this pretty neatly by having the option to choose between back-home-recent and recent-home-back. Whichever suits your preference, really.
Then, Neffos also offers the latest method to navigate through your phone – through gestures. You can select from a few different gestures so that it suits you. For example, to go back, you can choose to slide from left edge to right edge or vice versa, or from the center to whichever edge. Pretty neat!
And for those who wants gestures when the screen is turned off, then the Neffos X9 has something for you too. There are a few different gestures built-in, but you can actually choose whatever apps you want the gestures to open. For example, I changed the “draw an M” gesture to open Spotify instead of Google Play Music. Perhaps you might want to use Poweramp or something else that you prefer. Or, it doesn’t have to be a music app at all!
The Neffos X9 comes with 3GB + 32GB storage at RM599 and 4GB + 64GB storage at RM799. There’s a microsD card slot for you to store more photos, videos, and games too.
