A while back, Vivo launched their V7+ and we were wondering – where’s the V7? Doesn’t it seem weird that Vivo launched the V7+ but not the V7? Well, they’ve answered this burning question by finally announcing the Vivo V7 in the Malaysian market.

In many ways, the Vivo V7 is similar to the V7+. There are a few noticeable changes, of course. Here’s the full spec list of the Vivo V7.

  • 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with 1440×720 resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with octa-core processor at 1.8GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB storage
  •  Cameras
    • 16MP rear-facing camera
    • 24MP selfie camera
  •  3000mAh battery

Vivo V7

Compared to the V7+, the Vivo V7 has a smaller screen, smaller storage, and smaller battery. It seems like every other part of the phones remained the same. It’s quite disappointing too, knowing that the Vivo V7 and V7+ though more expensive than the OPPO F5, they’re still equipped with 720p screens. Not really sure what Vivo is doing here. Perhaps they’re betting on the Snapdragon 450 chipset that is manufactured using FinFET process? I mean, literally everything else is the same as the Vivo V7+.

Either way, the Vivo V7 is available in both Crown Gold and Matte Black, and it’s available in Vivo Concept Stores, partner stores, and e-commerce marketplaces nationwide. It’s priced at RM1,299.

Honestly speaking, it’s quite expensive for what it offers. With similar-featured smartphones like the Huawei Nova 2i and the OPPO F5, the Vivo V7+ is already defeated. I thought Vivo would be a little smarter when it comes to the Vivo V7’s launch – but apparently, they still priced it too high. To be frank, I think Vivo should shave about two hundred off its retail price.
