OPPO is well-known for their smartphones these days – especially for selfies. Since the dawn of OPPO F1s from 2016, OPPO has been positioning itself as the go-to smartphone for selfies. That continued with the OPPO F5 that we reviewed recently, too. And now, OPPO is introducing the brand new OPPO A83 – an entry-level selfie smartphone.

The new OPPO A83 seems like a cheaper version of the OPPO A77, but updated as they need to keep up with the trend of 18:9 FullView display aspect ratio.

According to GSMarena, the OPPO A83 sports a 5-inch 720p 18:9 screen, MediaTek MT6763T Helio P23 chipset with 2.5GHz octa-core processor that is fabricated using FinFET technology (check out why it’s important here), and comes with 32GB of storage. As for the RAM, it will come in either 3GB or 4GB variants. OPPO has not revealed what variants will be made available in the Malaysian market.

Not much else is known about the OPPO A83, but they’ve promised that it’ll be hitting the market on 23rd January 2018. Until then, stay tuned for future updates!
