We’ve covered a lot regarding the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10 series of smartphones. Samsung Malaysia just had a showcase yesterday whereby we got our hands on the new Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10, and also the Galaxy S10e. The Galaxy Buds were there too.

The all new Samsung Galaxy S10 series comes in a total of 3 different price ranges as shown in their pre-order details here. In terms of differences, obviously the sizes and battery capacity is different. What’s more is the number of cameras are different as well.

Galaxy S10+

The Galaxy S10+ is no doubt the top tier variant out of the 3 different versions – and it comes with a total of 5 cameras – 3 at the back and 2 at the front. One of the selfie cameras is an RGB depth sensor to create even more wacky-looking selfies.

The back Galaxy S10+ features a main camera, an ultrawide angle camera, and another telephoto camera. This combination of triple rear-facing cameras is seen on the competitor as well. The Galaxy S10+ will also be available in 12GB RAM + 1TB variant, but not in Malaysia for pre-orders. At least not now.

Then comes the Galaxy S10. This is (obviously) the middle-ground between the Galaxy S10+ and the Galaxy S10e. The Galaxy S10 comes with only a single selfie camera – which is sufficient for many people and comes with a smaller cutout on the screen. The rear-facing camera still remains the same as the Galaxy S10+ with a triple rear-facing camera configuration.

The dimension of the phone itself is actually pretty similar to the Galaxy S9 and packs a slightly larger 3,400mAh battery in it. Samsung struck a balance in creating the middle-ground for the Galaxy S10 in the family of devices.

Galaxy S10e

Then comes the Galaxy S10e. This variant is the cheapest out of the 3 and obviously there are some compromises. Firstly, there is only one selfie camera and there are only two rear-facing cameras.

Furthermore, the base model of the Galaxy S10e comes with 6GB of RAM whereby its elder siblings has 8GB of RAM. 6GB RAM is still plentiful given that many users will not choke it all up. Better yet, the price of the Galaxy S10e is really affordable as well.

It is also the second Samsung smartphone to use a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The other smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) that we reviewed here.

The similarities of these 3 phones? They all are packed with the latest and greatest hardware. Us here in Malaysia will be getting the Exynos 9820 chipset (as always) and comes with the most premium materials to create the Galaxy S10 series.

These 3 smartphones will also enjoy Samsung’s One UI and all of Samsung’s ecosystem has to offer. Samsung Pay is still one of my personal favorite Samsung-only feature, by the way.

Best thing is, they all come with a 3.5mm audio jack.

Galaxy Buds

We already expected the Galaxy Buds to come to Malaysia since last week as it was already appearing in SIRIM. The Galaxy Buds is a true wireless earbuds with features that are similar to what the Apple AirPods is offering.

It even comes with wireless charging – and if you have any of the 3 smartphones within the Galaxy S10 family, you can charge the Galaxy Buds with your phone via reverse wireless charging. If that’s not your cup of tea, then there is a USB-C port at the back of the Galaxy Buds’ cradle as well.
