Prices are unexpectedly good
I think it’s quite out of character for Samsung to actually retain the prices as much as possible. For us in Malaysia, both the Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Galaxy Z Fold4 is only RM100 higher compared to the previous generation
Adjusting for the current situation of the economy and also how the US dollar is soaring high above the Malaysian Ringgit, I’m surprised by the prices that Samsung Malaysia settled for.
The Galaxy Watch5, however, did get a price bump of RM200. I still think it’s okay since the Galaxy Watch5 is still currently the best and most affordable yet the most advanced WearOS smartwatch out there. However, it only works well with Samsung devices – so you need to take note of that.

The good news gets better
One of the best news was what Samsung Malaysia announced during the previous session. For those who are holding off from getting the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 last year, then this is your perfect chance to jump on the wagon.
For all Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Galaxy Z Fold4 customers, we will all be getting:
- 2 years of warranty in total
- 3x screen protector exchange
The latter point is because a lot of people were complaining that the factory-applied screen protector started peeling off on its own and bubbling up – so Samsung Malaysia’s coverage of 3x screen protector exchange means that we can have a total of 4 screen protectors. The first one is from the factory and 3 more from the Samsung service centers.
I mean, there’s no better way to entice people than to provide an even longer warranty and that’s fantastic.
