It seems like only yesterday that OPPO released the F7, and they’re now teasing the upcoming OPPO F9 already. What’s the difference? We don’t know yet – but we’ll surely update this page when we have more information. As of now, this is what we know about the OPPO F9.
Firstly, the OPPO F9 uses a display that has a tiny little notch at the top. They’re calling it the “waterdrop screen”. It’s not groundbreaking or anything like that – just a smaller notch. And that’s all the information we have now.
OPPO is withholding all information for now, and we’ll have to wait for at least 2 weeks until more information is released.
However, OPPO Malaysia has already submitted the OPPO F9 to Sirim and we got to know a little bit more information about it. The OPPO F9 will feature 802.11ac WiFi – which is rare for a budget smartphone.
UPDATE: OPPO sent out another teaser – and this time it’s the color of the device. Surprisingly, it’ll be available in Sunrise Gold color and this is the first time we see the back of the phone.
From here we can see that the OPPO F9 actually comes with a fingerprint sensor – no surprise from the F-series – and also what looks to be a patterned back. We’ll have to wait further to know more about it.
[UPDATE]: While we do know that Sunrise Red is coming, there are actually two more different colors coming – the Twilight Blue which has the same facet pattern like the Sunrise Red, and also Starry Purple which is pretty self-explanatory.
Personally speaking, I’m looking forward to the upcoming Starry Purple color.
On another note, the OPPO F9 is confirmed to have OPPO’s VOOC technology too.
