For those who have not heard what or who Realme is, then fret not – we’re here to tell you some backstory. Realme is actually a sub-brand of OPPO that is focused on performance and stylish design, targeted at youths with its affordable prices.
It’s something along the lines of what Honor represents in Huawei. Realme and OPPO are two sides of the same coin. Smartphones from both companies are using ColorOS too.
Realme is established in May 2018, they’ve launched the first smartphone called the Realme1 in India. Immediately, it was sold out in two minutes and made into Amazon’s Best Seller list. 400k units were sold 2 months after the launch – which is a surprisingly large number.
Realme just launched another smartphone called the Realme2, and 200k units were sold under 5 minutes. That’s a really strong testament.
With very few options available in the market to meet the ever-changing customer demand, Realme is focused on bridging the gap by providing products with the latest innovations along with strong performance and stylish designs. As Realme is targeting the global market, we aspire to inject fresh momentum into the global smartphone industry.
– Sky Li, Founder and Global CEO of Realme
Now that we know who and what Realme is, the next question is when will they arrive to Malaysia? We don’t know yet – but we’re told that “Malaysians will soon be able to get their hands on the smartphones and enjoy a lot more at surprising prices”.
