Over the past few days, I’m sure many of us here have seen numerous reports of the Galaxy Fold malfunctioning – especially the screen as it was broken a day after usage. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.
We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.

We do understand the difficulty of creating the world’s first foldable smartphone and releasing it to be market. It’s a feat like no other, and as stated, multiple new technologies and materials are used to create the Galaxy Fold. One particular difference is the use of a plastic screen instead glass since plastic can be bent.
The release date delay will give Samsung time to further test and improve on the design of the Galaxy Fold.
It seems like the unveiling of the Galaxy Fold on 3rd May in Malaysia is bound to be delayed until further notice as well.
