We talked about Samsung’s One UI update not too long ago, and it brings a refreshing experience to what Samsung is already doing. With phone screens that are literally getting longer through iterations, Samsung’s One UI moves the important elements down to the bottom of the screen instead.
XDA reports that the Samsung One UI update will be packaged together with Android 9.0 Pie as well. There will be a total of 24 Samsung Galaxy smartphones that will receive this update, and both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be receiving the update in January first, and the Galaxy Note9 comes in second.
Earlier, there were obvious false rumors going on that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are not receiving the One UI update, and Samsung has crushed this rumor to dust. Granted, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will come in March 2019 instead – a little late.

Even though the roadmap says January 2019 for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, SamMobile reported seems like Samsung has become Santa Claus and unraveled the update for a few countries. Yes, this is the official update – not beta.
- Germany
- Switzerland
- Italy
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
As of now, we do not know when the Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung One UI will be arriving to Malaysia. I tried to search for the update on my Galaxy S9 and it is still not available yet. 😢
It’s only a few more days till January – so let us all be patient.
