Remember the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 that we talked about here? Yes – that new smartphone that has the great Snapdragon 845 chipset and at least 6GB RAM and 64GB storage with an unbelievably low price. Many people have been asking when the phone will arrive to Malaysia, and today we have a hint.
The picture was originally uploaded by Mi Studio Malaysia. It looks like an ordinary gallery of unboxing pictures for the Pocophone F1, until one of the picture showed the distributor sticker.
Era International Network, or EIN as their logo shows, is the distributor for Xiaomi Malaysia. We’ve seen their sticker on Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and also the Mi A2 that we reviewed here. Since the EIN sticker is already on the packaging of the Pocophone F1, the next step is to start selling.
We can also see that the Pocophone F1 that is already in Malaysia is in the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration. We’re unsure if the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage will be available in the market.
We’re confident to that the next step is to start selling the Pocophone F1 because the phone has already passed SIRIM certification since 17th August 2018.
The model number of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is M1805E10A. You can look it up for yourself to verify too.
With all of that said, we do not know when exactly it will be on sale, and we do not know the price either. We expect the Pocophone F1 to be on sale in a few days’ time. As for the price, we’re hoping that the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage will be around ~RM1,250 range to compete with the Honor Play that we reviewed here.
UPDATE: Price and availability was just announced!
The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 was just announced to be on sale starting 30th August 2018 and Xiaomi is bringing in the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage versions only. The 8GB RAM version will not be available. Bummer.
Still, the prices are as follows. Keep in mind that SST will bump up the price a little, which will take effect after 10th September.
