By now, I'm sure all of us have heard and seen news and videos about the brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. What many don't know is that Samsung Malaysia just officially launched bot of the flagships here in Malaysia - that means it's now locally available!
Whenever I ever went to any of the gadget stores recently, I see lots of USB drives. Most of them have this generic design they're trying to achieve - either being extremely tiny as an "expandable storage" for laptops, or one that has OTG capabilities for easy data transfer. Apacer wants to bring more than just convenience with the AH13A and AH15A - and here's what they've got.
The niche market for portable SSDs has obviously grown since the last time we ever saw any external USB-based SSD here at Nasi Lemak Tech. I mean, why else other manufacturers like Apacer join the bandwagon? Transcend returns with another portable SSD - this time it's called the Transcend ESD220C, and oh boy, it's vastly different from the ESD400 that they had last time.
It's rare that I am to speak highly of a Bluetooth speaker. Personally, I'm more of a 2.1 speaker guy than any other piece of audio device. I do have Bluetooth speakers lying around the room or house so I can grab and connect to one whenever I wish. There was never one true favorite Bluetooth speaker - but the Edifier MP233 changes that.
Here's a tiny little SSD for those who like portability and speed. The Apacer ASMini is a really portable piece of external storage. Here's why.
The speaker is... funky, to say the least. I mean, at this point, we can all agree on that point. The SonicGear Aquarius (2017) is a speaker that focuses on its looks way too much than they're supposed to while neglecting the sound quality. It sounds horrible.
In the market today, there are a lot of external hard disks available. They're made by a multitude of manufacturers, and they're offered in a variety of flavors - and each of these flavors have their own specialty too. We've seen the Transcend StoreJet 25H3 here, but this new StoreJet 25C3 is certainly a reimagining of how an external hard disk should look like.
To be honest, external hard disks are fragile They have delicate little moving parts in them, and the main purpose of an eHDD is portability. That means these delicate little hard disks are going to bump into random stuff are random angles, and in random amounts of force. We've seen rugged external hard disks before, but the Apacer AC730 is certainly the most complete when it comes to military-grade ruggedness.
Power banks. They're abundantly available in the market these days. I'm not joking - nearly everyone has one, and I personally have quite a number of them. However, none of them are created equal, and most of them have features traded off. Well, not anymore with the Razer Power Bank. Don't let its generic name trick you, though.
